If it weren't for the prominant insignia on the dial you might mistake this for a Hamilton wristwatch! Even Wittnauer caught on to the eccentric case design that Hamilton initiated. Made in the mid 1960's, the word "mod" certainly applies to this watch. The case is 14k yellow gold filled and measures 34mm wide by 40mm long. The movement has 17 jewels. The watch is Gold on gold on gold - gold hands with luminous centers on a Gold dial.
The overall effect of the timepiece is stunning. Notice the jaunty angle that the lugs take as they embrace the band. Additionally the case contour is pointed at it's attachment to the lugs and opposite the nine and the three.
The pale gold dial has a brushed surface that striates outward in a sunburst fashion.
The chapter markers are simple gold bars; double at the ordinal points, and single, at the other chapters.
The graceful sweep second hand is long and elegant as it sweeps the minutes. The crown is the original Wittnauer logo marked which is very nice since many of the vintage pieces lack this discerning touch.
The reverse bears a personalization of the original owner carved in the stainless steel back and dates the piece to 1965.
