Hamilton, the top manufacturer in America, made a lot of great looking watches. We are constantly searching for the best condition pieces that can be had in the "Vintage Market" and this watch qualifies not only for condition but also for scarcity. This model, "The Paige" made circa 1940 is a relatively small watch - made originally for a man, but due to today's larger trends, would be perfect for a woman. The case is yellow gold filled and measures 24mm wide by 34mm long. The watch is in excellent condition and bears the inscription on the back "ELM from GJM 12-25-40, obviously a Christmas present from long ago. The Hamilton book shows this model as circa 1941 so whomever bought this one either knew the distributor or was one of the very first to see and buy this handsome watch. The two-tone dial is all original and has all the mellow patina of a perfectly aged wristwatch face! The center of the dial is a pale yellow silver while the arcaded black band carries the Roman Numeral hours. Originally these were made with two different dial configurations...one plain and this, harder-to-find, two-tone. The movement is in spectacular condition, winding, setting, and running like new. This is Hamilton's famous caliber 982, 19 jewel movement, that displays the vertical damaskeening pattern that is the familiar Hamilton signature. This "Paige" is a great looking watch that will deliver a lifetime of service from America's greatest watch company...don't miss it. Remember all of our timepieces come with our famous one year warranty for parts and labor so that you may buy with confidence.
