Hamilton Manual Wind
product number W2348

This Hamilton is a 1947 caliber 747 movement, which is spotless and running like the proverbial top. This was made post WWII when Hamilton production was really gearing-up (so to speak). The movement is a 17 jewel workhorse! The case is yellow gold filled and measures 28mm wide by 40mm in length and is a wonderful design. Take a close look at the "Zoom-In" photos and particularly notice the unusual lug configuration. This is the only case of this type we have ever seen in 30 years at the bench. It is as dramatic as it is stunning. The case front is yellow gold filled while the case back is stainless steel for longevity and ruggedness. Also notice what nice condition it is in...hardy used at all. The silvered dial has gold applied numerals and classic baton hands to indicate the time. The seconds bit is minimalist and perfectly positioned at the 6 o'clock position. All-in-all this is one very nice Hamilton (America's finest watch company) for not much dough! Remember all of our timepieces come with our famous one year warranty for parts and labor so that you may buy with confidence! This one could be yours!

Gruen Curvex
product number W2578

We have found another superb, white gold filled Gruen Curvex! We are constantly searching for these fantastic timepieces but we are very picky and therefore choose only the stellar pieces! This one is in fantastic condition and our master watchmakers have it winding, setting and performing like the day it left "Time Hill" in Cincinatti where Gruen was headquartered! We can work miracles on these watches but we have to start with a sound foundation and this watch has everything a watchmaker could want. The case has to be in very good shape when we find them and one of the ways to confirm this is to look at back of the lugs. If a gold filled case is worn all the way through the gold - down to the base metal (that gives the watch its strength), it is "brassed-out" and the watch does not meet our standards! That wear is the first sign that the watch has too much mileage on it! This is not the case with our watch. Take a look at the "Zoom-In" photos and I think you will see how pristine it is. We look for the gems that have been hidden away - long forgotten and hardly used! This is just such a fine timepiece that we can all be proud of ...and it can be yours. Remember all of our timepieces come with our famous one year warranty for parts and labor so that you may buy with confidence. If you buy this one I'll bet you will keep it all of your days...its that nice!

Movado Sub Sea
product number W2557

Movado was in the forefront of technological innovation and style. This is not only borne out by their wonderful timepieces but also by their name which comes from Esperanto meaning "always in motion". Esperanto was the subject of L.L. Zamenhof's book about a universal language "Unua Libro" circa 1887. The fact that Movado seized upon this new language for their name is indicative of their mindset. Movado didn't need the help of Lemania or Valjoux (famous chronograph manufacturers) when they made the "Sub Sea." They made their own superb Chronograph movement, the 17 jewel, calibre 146MP. This watch put Movado in the pantheon of fine watchmakers that made water proof Chronographs!

Forget about all of that for a moment and take a look at this interesting man-sized watch. It has a dial that is absolutely all original as is evidenced by the mellow color of the hash markers and the lume in the hands. Only time can age them this nicely. The stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter (not including the crown) by 46mm lug-to-lug and creates quite a statement on the wrist. There are three subsidiary dials that are for constant seconds, recorded minutes, and recorded hours. The external bezel marking are for a 60 mph tachymetre function as is the internal marking.

We have fitted the watch with a diving style rubber strap to complete the look. Remember we warranty all of our timepieces for one year parts and labor so that you may buy with confidence.

Don't miss this one!

Gruen Veri Thin
product number W2574

This is a really dramatic Gruen "Veri-Thin" with a black dial that has bezel -set diamonds at three of the Cardinal Points! The watch has a very architectural character. Even the faceted crystal (which Gruen pioneered) is reminiscent of a French Mansard roof! The white gold filled case is in excellent condition and it even sports its original Gruen marked crown. Made circa 1945 this model is a stunning example of Gruen's artistry in the watch world. I have an image in my brain of a gentleman in a tuxedo raising his champagne to his lips and as his french cuff falls back to reveal this Gruen Diamond Dial "Veri-Thin". Fantasy yes, but the watch is here and in the flesh. It is truly reminiscent of the era. It measures 39mm lug to lug by 24mm in width. Take a careful look at the "Zoom-In" photos and you can see the delineations of the crystal facets. Most of the Gruen faceted crystals are two or three facet, but darned few are in this configuration. It is quite striking and in excellent condition. Our master watchmakers have the spotless caliber 430 movement ticking like new and the timing pattern coming off our our vibrograph is as straight as an arrow. If you would like to own a very nice dress watch then this may be the one for you! Remember all of our timepieces come with our famous one year warranty for parts and labor so that you may buy with confidence.

Gruen 14K Curvex
product number W2572

This is a solid gold "Curvex"! The case is 22mm wide and 40mm in length, a midsize "Curvex" for those of you who do not have a large wrist, and solid gold to boot! It has a pristine seventeen jewel movement and, while it is rare that we come across a solid gold Gruen "Curvex" its even rarer that we find one in this condition. When you find one in this condition you really feel like you hit the jackpot. This is one of the nicest Solid Yellow Gold midsize "Curvexes"  that we've ever had the pleasure to own and that's really saying something since we've been in the business for 31 years. Take a look at the photos. The case shape from the side view is amazing. Notice the dramatic curve of the case and the tapered terminal ends. The case sides are beautifully formed coming down from the highly polished case top and lugs. This case back tells the story of a well-cared-for work of art. The 17 jewel movement is Gruen's famed Caliber 440 and our master watchmakers have it running like new. This is a fabulous timepiece that was made, circa 1946, during an era when watches were made to last a lifetime and several incarnations beyond. Gruen held the patents for the curved movement and consequently were the only company that could make the "Curvex". We have chosen a complimentary ostrich grain band with stitched edges that completes the effect. This watch was the pride of someone who took very good care of it and only wore it occasionally. This could be your heirloom. It's a beauty....don't miss it. Remember all of our timepieces come with our famous one year warranty for parts and labor so that you may buy with confidence.
